John Terry Bible Record Copy of Bible record of John Terry 1807 - 1892 m. Nancy H. Benson. This family removed from Greenbrier County Virginia to Knox County, Illinois in the Fall of 1834. Record submitted by Michael Edward Terry. 
John Terry Marriage This is a copy of the actual marriage record of John Terry and Nancy H. Benson in Greenbrier County, Virginia. Please also note the marriage of a Thomas Terry to Eliz Terry a couple of lines above.  Record submitted by Michael Edward Terry. 
Thomas Terry - Will This is a transcription of the Will of Thomas Terry died before 7 Jun 1839 in Fayette County, Virginia. He married Sarah Kincaid. His children are named in the Will. Record submitted by Michael Edward Terry. 
George W. Terry Profile This is a short profile of George Washington Terry married 1847 Nancy A. Shelton in Kentucky.

Jeaneen is a great-great Granddaughter of George Washington Terry 1825 -1913. She is a descendant of Thomas Terry died Bet. 13 Feb 1792 - 08 Oct 1804. He was of Fluvanna County, Virginia in 1792 and his Will was proven 08 Oct 1804 in Louisa County, Virginia.
George W. Terry Newspaper Article Here is a copy of a newspaper clipping my Grandfather had about G. W.Terry from 1930 newspaper.

The newspaper article incorrectly notes death as November 21, 1912. It is actually November 21, 1913 according to pension records.

George W. Terry CW Pension papers This is George Washington Terry's Civil war Co. B 97th reg. In inf picture.  Also his tall gravestone and next to it is his Civil War Chaplains marker.  The paper is From the Dept. of Interior Bureau of Pensions dated May 11, 1897.

George W. Terry letter from Atlanta - 1864 Here is a copy of Rev. G.W. Terry's report during the Civil War dated July 31, 1864 near Atlanta, Georgia.

James Terry 1872-1896 Grave Stone
In these pictures you can see Sally's grave better in between Thomas and James.
You can also see the seashells that are in rows on top of his grave.

Oolitic Baptist Mission Church - Indiana
This is a picture of the Oolitic Baptist Mission Church in Oolitic Indiana. taken 1901. Rev. George W. Terry is standing in the center of the picture  in front of the doors wearing a dark suit.  His wife Charlotte is standing directly behind him wearing a hat.

Seated in front of Rev. Terry is his son Robert Catersine Terry  and his wife Mattie.  She is holding their son George Earl Terry who is 13 months old.  Mattie's mother Mrs. Williams is seated to her right  and Mattie's father John Williams is seated left of  Robert C. Terry.  ALL of them are in The CENTER of the photo.

Sally Lamay Terry Grave Stone
Mike, here are pictures of Sally Terry's markers in Sanford Cem. Greenville Ky.

 

Top left:  Her new marker replaced by Mina Terry in the 1970's

Top right:Sally's original Marker made of Sandstone.  It is now her footstone.


Bottom Left: Cem. sign this is a small cemetery and  if you look behind the sign the Terry family is buried off to the right and back by that large tree.

Bottom right:  You'll find 4 graves.  The large tall marker with 2 foot stones is that of Thomas and Elizabeth Terry. Next to them is Sally Terry's headstone and footmarker. then it's the grave of James Terry.  He has a headstone and his grave is covered with stone that has lines of seashells on it.

Thomas Terry Marker
Mike you can see the footmarkers real good in this picture  Elizabeth and Thomas share the same tombstone.
 
Her writing is on the side facing the trees and his is on the side facing his mother.  On the front of the marker it says
 

Father, Mother

a sleep in Jesus

 Blessed sleep

City of Greenville - Muhlenburg County Court House and Signs
Pictures taken at Greenville Ky.  The Muhkenberg Co. Courthouse and the signs in front of it
 
The Sanford cemetery is located on hwy 189 just 1.2 miles from hwy. 62.

The town is very quaint, clean and full of history.
